Scouts of UK are part of The Scout Organization recognized by the World Organization of the Scout Movement. In the UK, scouting began in 1907 at Baden-Powell's initiative. Creating responsible citizens and also promoting the development of the youth in achieving their full intellectual, physical, social and spiritual potential is the goal of the
scouts of UK. This can be done when they are given responsibility, when they think for themselves, wok in teams and take risks. At the present there are 400.000
scouts of UK with ages between 6 and 25 years. The Scout Association is divided into four mainland national groupings: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. There are also two branches, Air Scouts and Sea Scouts, both following the main scouting program but focusing more on aeronautical or nautical activities. There are about 400 Sea Scout groups and 117 Air Scout Groups.
Scouts of UK are divided age-wise into five sections as follows: Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts, Explorer Scouts and Scout Network. The first four sections are led by a Section Leader who is aided by assistant leaders, while Scout Networks are mainly member led but are also assisted by a Network Leader who ensures that the Network is working in accordance with the rules of the association of the
scouts of UK.
