Scouts of Ukraine are part of the National Organization of Scouts of Ukraine which received the World Organization of the Scout Movement recognition in July 2008. In Ukraine, scouting began in 2007. National Organization of
Scouts of Ukraine membership is open to girls and boys, women and men, in three age sections: Cubs (6-10), Scouts (11-16) and Rovers (16-24). Creating responsible citizens and also promoting the development of the youth in achieving their full intellectual, physical, social and spiritual potential is the goal of the
scouts of Ukraine. This can be achieved when they are given responsibility, when they think for themselves, work in teams and take risks. At the present there are about 2.475 scouts in this country, including 718 female youth members, 1.546 male youth members, plus some 200 adult leaders and Council members.
Scouts of Ukraine are "trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent" as the scout law demands. Their mission is that of educating the youth so that it will play an active role in making the world a better place, thinking globally and acting locally and instilling values that will be carried further by the future
scouts of Ukraine.
