Scouts of Spain have the mission of educating the youth of the country in order to build a better world. Scouting was founded in Spain in 1912 and had its ups and downs for several years. In 1987 the World Office of the Scouting Movement made as its member the Federacion de Escultismo en Espana. The Federation was made by Movimiento Scout Catolico, Federacion de Asociaciones de Scouts de Espana and Federacio Catalana d'Escoltisme i Guiatge that now is part of the national Federation and is only active in Catalonia. The
Scouts of Spain collaborate with all the major institutions of the state for accomplishing successfully their mission. There are more than 300 scout groups in this country, all of them offering the unique experience of scouting. The
scouts of Spain are divided into five categories each for a certain age range (beavers, cubs, scouts, scouts/guides, rovers/partners) and with different types of teaching methods appropriate for each age. At the present time, the number of
scouts of Spain is around 60.000, all of them working together to make the world a better place, acting locally and instilling values in the youth so that they will be carried further by the following generations of
scouts of Spain.
