Scouts of Colombia are part of The Scout Organization recognized by the World Organization of the Scout Movement through the National Organization "Asociación Scouts de Colombia". In Colombia, scouting began in 1013 and it was introduced by Miguel Jimenez. Creating responsible citizens and also promoting the development of the youth in achieving their full intellectual, physical, social and spiritual potential is the goal of the
scouts of Colombia. This can be achieved when they are given responsibility, when they think for themselves, work in teams and take risks. The program of the scouts of Colombia includes activities such as community service and outdoor activities and it also focuses on conservation and ecology. At the present there are around 14.045 scouts in this country. Their membership badge incorporates a a shield featuring the flag of Colombia.
Scouts of Colombia are "trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent" as the scout law demands. Their mission is that of educating the youth so that it will play an active role in making the world a better place, thinking globally and acting locally and instilling values that will be carried further by the future
scouts of Colombia.
