Scouts of Romania, at present, comprise around 2.500 members all part of the
Scouts of Romania Organization that has 63 branches spread throughout the country. Their mission is that of educating the youth through a system of values based on a Promise and a Law, to help create a better world, where people are fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive part in the society.
Scouts of Romania guide themselves after the motto "think globally, act locally" so they get involved in the communities they live in order to change things for the better. Elder people can also join the scout family as liders. They join voluntarily and also go through a training period.There are several associations with slightly different aims in Romania:
Scouts of Romaina that is a member of WOSM, Catholic Scout Association that is part of ONCR and linked with AGESCI, Hungarian Scout Association in Romania that is affiliated to ONCR, The Association of Girl Guides and Boy Scouts and Romanian Christian Scouts of FSE. Trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent these are the qualities you will find in the Scouts of Romania.
