Scouts of Brazil, at the present, comprise around 51.500 members, both boys and girls, all part of the Union of Brazilian Scouts which is the national scouting organization of this country. Scouting was founded in Brazil in 1910, but it was only in 1924 when Union of Brazilian Scouts was born. The areas where scouting is most popular and active are the cities and the suburban areas. Also, scouts of Brazil are always present at every world or regional event, in large numbers, proving their dedication to their mission. According to the age, there are four scout sections for the scouts of Brazil: Cub Scouts (ages 7 to 10), Boy Scouts/Girl Scouts (ages 11 to 14), Senior Scouts/Girl Guides (ages 15 to 17) and Pioneers (ages 18 to 21). There are also branches such as Sea Scout and Air Scout. Sea scouts are part of the international scouting movement who pay closer attention to water-based activities. The Air Scouts of Brazil, as in other countries, are mainly oriented towards aviation themed programs and flying based activities. The scouts motto is "Always prepared" and the cubs motto is "Do your best". "Always be prepared to serve the best you can" is the scouts of Brazil slogan.
